By Car
Harpenden is easy to get to by car and has plenty of car parks, so you won’t have any difficulty finding a convenient place to leave your car.
The Eric Morecambe Centre can be found in the old Harpenden Leisure Centre site, if you use AL5 2HU in the sat nav
From the North:
Exit Junction 10 of the M1 on the first slip road off to the left of the motorway exit road (signposted to Harpenden, St Albans & A1081) and then follow the signs to the A1081 Harpenden & St Albans. You will pass Luton Hoo Estate on the left and further on pass under a railway bridge. On entering Harpenden town centre continue along what is now the Luton Road until you reach the mini-roundabout at the end of the parade of shops and just before The Harpenden Arms Public House. At the mini-roundabout take the third exit onto Station Road, turn right onto Leyton Road and then turn left onto Amenbury Lane. Follow the road up and you will drive past The Oddfellows Arms Public House which will be on your right hand side, then shortly on your left will be Amenbury Car Park. You can park here and The Eric Morecambe Centre is a two minute walk past Harpenden Leisure Centre which will be on your right.
From the South:
Exit Junction 9 of the M1 At the roundabout take the third exit on the A5183 Dunstable Road following signs for Harpenden & Redbourn, passing the Herts County Showgrounds on the right. At the first roundabout take the first exit to Harpenden on the B487 Redbourn Lane. Continue along the road past Harpenden Rugby FC on the right and the White Horse Public House on the left. Take the left at the roundabout onto the St Albans Road following the common until you reach The Silver Cup Public House on the left. At the roundabout take the first exit onto Leyton Road and bear right following the road around. Drive down Leyton Road and past The Inn on The Green Public House. Then turn left onto Amenbury Lane, follow the road up and you will drive past The Oddfellows Arms Public House which will be on your right hand side, then shortly on your left will be Amenbury Car Park. You can park here and The Eric Morecambe Centre is a two minute walk past Harpenden Leisure Centre which will be on your right.
